6 Gluten Free Apple Recipes To Try This Fall

The official start of Fall is around the corner people! You know that that means….APPLE PICKING SEASON!!! Swoon…. Don’t get us wrong, we are sad to see summer go, but Fall is just the best.  The colors, the crisp air, the cute clothes and of course the APPLES. Every year my husband and I go apple picking with our family at Och’s Farm in Warwick, NY. We usually tailgate right outside of the apple orchard. Everyone packs snacks and lunches to share. Technically tailgating is not allowed but that will be our little secret. By the end of the day, I’ve usually eaten my weight in fresh delicious apples-picked right off the tree. We also drive home with about 15 pounds of apples in our trunk. On the drive home it always hits me…Oh Crap…what are we going to do with all these apples?! Then I usually spend the whole…

Beautiful Carb-Free Gluten Free Mediterranean Pasta

My obsession with all the little details can get really annoying (just ask my husband). It’s also just plain exhausting. When my best friend had her baby shower, I killed myself finding the perfect party theme….”born to be wild” with jungle accents if you were wondering. I painstakingly made every decoration by hand and I spent way too much time making deliciously adorable gluten free monkey faced cupcakes that nobody really ate…wahhhh! (maybe that “fun” project will find its way onto TDK) When my son turned one, I HAD to throw a huge lake themed party complete with an invitation full of fish puns. Again I poured my time into preparing dinner for 50 people and making some really cute birthday banners and a sign that read “the BIG one! Yes, I am aware of how annoying this blog makes me sound but there is reason I bring all this…

Ginger, Turmeric and Lemon Detoxifying Tea

You know that feeling you get right before you get sick? It’s like, you know you’re going to get sick, but your not quite there yet. I call it the “pre-sick symptoms.” My friends and family tell me that my “pre-sick symptoms” are all in my head but I haven’t been proven wrong yet! Maybe I’m just a little more in-tune with my body? I also know the triggers that lead to my getting sick…it’s usually a fatal combination of stress, lack of sleep and of course germ exposure. When I start to get that pre-sick vibe I have my very own pre-sick ritual. It involves comfy sweats, hydration and this detox tea. This recipe is super easy and tastes pretty good too. You can totally use it for detoxing from a hangover, accidentally eating gluten or just drink it because its good for you. The name is pretty self explanatory, but…

If Pizza is Life, Then this New York Style Gluten Free Pizza Recipe is Heaven

Pizza has got me so thirsty I will legit take it anyway I can get it: fresh, frozen, even cold and leftover from the night before. It’s just one of these things I can’t live without. My love affair with pizza has spanned several decades. Sure we’ve had our ups and downs from a lactose intolerance to a Celiac diagnosis, but some how we’ve always managed to make things work.

Lately though, things were starting to get a little old. That is until one of my besties, who also happens to share my gluten affliction and a love for pizza, told me about this gluten free and paleo New York style cassava flour based pizza dough recipe. I think she put it best when she called it a “Total Game Changer”.
